Softball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Lookeba-Sickles' Winning Streak

Lookeba-Sickles dropped down to 5-2 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Elgin Owls by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

As for Elgin, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

For Elgin's part, their victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kelby Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Lookeba-Sickles does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elgin, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-0 win against Canute on the 6th.
