Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Defenders vs. La Serna Lancers

Valley Christian hasn't had much luck against La Serna recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Valley Christian Defenders will look to defend their home court against the La Serna Lancers at 6:00 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Valley Christian is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since December 21, 2023 on Saturday. They put the hurt on Mayfair with a sharp 49-28 win.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for La Serna on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Don Lugo out of the water with a 47-19 final score. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Serna's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Valley Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Valley Christian suffered a grim 59-39 defeat to La Serna in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Valley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
