Softball Recap: Ralston Find Success

Ralston won the last time they faced Douglas County West and things went their way on Saturday too. The Rams skirted past the Falcon 4-3.

Makenzie Macrander was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Ochsner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Ralston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County West only posted a batting average of .250.

Ralston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.
