Soccer Game Preview: Amphitheater vs. Cholla

The Amphitheater Panthers will face off against the Cholla Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amphitheater's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Amphitheater fell victim to Douglas and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Cholla didn't have quite enough to beat Sahuarita on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The loss continues a trend for Cholla in their meetings with Sahuarita: they've now lost four in a row.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Amphitheater, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Amphitheater was able to grind out a solid victory over Cholla in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, winning 3-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
