California Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings: No. 1 La Jolla Country Day routs two NorCal opponents

Torreys win two games by combined 48 points; Top-ranked NorCal team, No. 4 Mitty wins three by combined 137.

The top-ranked La Jolla Country girls basketball team went North for the Marin Luther King Jr. weekend, and saw little resistance.

The Torreys, ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps California rankings for the second straight week, defeated previously ranked Salesian (Richmond) 71-51, and St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda), 71-43 in Bishop O'Dowd MLK Classic contests Saturday and Monday.

LJCD got big games from Oregon bound Te-hina Paopao and 6-foot-3 freshman Breya Cunningham in the victories.



There were small changes in the Top 10 rankings, with only previous No. 10 Rosary Academy (Fullerton) switching spots with previous No. 11 St. Mary's (Stockton).

Archbishop Mitty moved up from No. 5 to No. 4 with three wins by margins of 45, 39 and 53 points.
