Westlake is a perfect 8-0 against Del Valle since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Meanwhile, Del Valle fell victim to Dripping Springs and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 63-0. The Cardinals have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Westlake's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Del Valle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Westlake against Del Valle when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chaparrals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
