Soccer Game Preview: Avalon vs. Vista Meridian

The Avalon Lancers will face off against the Vista Meridian Meridian Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Avalon will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Providence, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Avalon never let Providence onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Vista Meridian's offense. They came up short against Tarbut V' Torah on Thursday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Meridian Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Avalon's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5-1. As for Vista Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Avalon's way against Vista Meridian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Avalon made off with a 5-1 victory. In that game, Avalon amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
