Preview: Waseca Bluejays vs. Albert Lea Tigers
Waseca is 4-0 against Albert Lea since August of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Waseca Bluejays will head out on the road to face off against the Albert Lea Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waseca has five straight victories, Albert Lea has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Waseca got themselves on the board against Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center], but Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 56-0 win over the Titans. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Waseca just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, Albert Lea came up short against Worthington on Friday and fell 22-14. Albert Lea has struggled against Worthington recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Although Albert Lea took the loss, they still got scores from Joshua Jordahl and Cameron Mudra.
Waseca's win bumped their season record to 5-1 while Albert Lea's loss dropped theirs to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Waseca against Albert Lea in their previous meeting back in September of 2018 as the team secured a 60-6 win. Will Waseca repeat their success, or does Albert Lea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
