Recap: Tamaqua Blue Raiders vs. Minersville Battlin' Miners
The Tamaqua Blue Raiders lost to the Minersville Battlin' Miners back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Tamaqua secured a 48-42 W over Minersville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tamaqua.
Tamaqua's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Hope, who scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hope has scored all season. Kolbe Robb was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Tamaqua is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Minersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Tamaqua is on the road again on Tuesday and plays North Schuylkill at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. North Schuylkillpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tamaqua in Pennsylvania (North Schuylkill is ranked 119th, while Tamaqua is ranked 259th). Minersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
