Baseball Game Preview: Brooks Eagles vs. Oak Lawn Spartans

The Brooks Eagles will take on the Oak Lawn Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Brooks came up short against Taft, falling 16-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Brooks has suffered since April 11, 2024.

Kelly West made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, Oak Lawn didn't have quite enough to beat Berwyn/Cicero Morton on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Oak Lawn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Olejniczak, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Olejniczak a new career-high in hits.

Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Oak Lawn, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Brooks skirted past Oak Lawn 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will Brooks repeat their success, or does Oak Lawn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
