Basketball Recap: Stockton Christian's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Stockton Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 27-22 W over the Vanguard College Prep Lions. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stockton Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Sanchez, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Sanchez has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aliya Meeks, who earned eight points.

Stockton Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.7 points per game. As for Vanguard College Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Stockton Christian has already played their next game, a 41-33 win against Turlock Christian on the 10th. As for Vanguard College Prep, they will venture away from home to square off against Delta Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Vanguard College Prep is facing Delta Charter at the right time seeing as Delta Charter is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
