Baseball Recap: Pepperell's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Pepperell had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Heard County Braves. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Pepperell got a massive performance out of JP Kilgo, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Godfrey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Kilgo wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pepperell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Pepperell's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Heard County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Pepperell will head out to challenge Model at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Model's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Pepperell's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Heard County, they will face off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heard County will need to watch out since Bremen has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
