Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

If Chapel Hill was feeling good fresh off their 19-3 takedown of Douglas County last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chapel Hill lost 13-4 to the Harrison Hoyas on Friday.

Jaylon Allen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Chapel Hill is 4-1 when Allen posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Harrison, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chapel Hill Panthers duke it out with Jackson Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Chapel Hill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harrison, they will face off against Lovett at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Lovett's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Harrison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
