Recap: Jim Ned Indians vs. Iowa Park Hawks
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Jim Ned Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Iowa Park by a score of 14-7. The win was nothing new for Jim Ned as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jim Ned got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dean Guffey out in front who rushed for 39 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown. Guffey hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Carter Wood also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.
Jim Ned's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.8 points per game. As for Iowa Park, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Jim Ned will square off against Whitesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitesboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while Jim Ned is ranked 202nd). As for Iowa Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Brock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brock is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
