Softball Recap: Fullington Academy Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fullington Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Tiftarea Academy Panthers 5-4. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Carli Gibson, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Fletcher, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Tiftarea Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Fullington Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
