Softball Recap: John Milledge Academy's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

John Milledge Academy dropped to 7-5 on Monday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Athens Christian Eagles by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since August 19, 2024.

Addie Latimer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, John Milledge Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Santarone, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Athens Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

On Athens Christian's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ellianna Christian gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits.

Coming up, John Milledge Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Stratford Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens Christian, they will host Bethlehem Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
