Miami came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans 78-36. The Vandals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Miami's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tamia Pietila led the charge by going 12 of 26 en route to 27 points along with seven assists and seven boards. Pietila's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aeriana Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds.

Miami smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Leading Edge Academy - GEC saw an underclassman step up: freshman Corynn Foster went 8 for 12 on her way to 22 points and three steals. That was a full 61.1% of Leading Edge Academy - GEC's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hayley Foster, who earned ten points.

Miami's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Miami and Leading Edge Academy - GEC should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Miami (ranked seventh) will meet Pima (ranked 53rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Miami is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.3 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Leading Edge Academy - GEC will challenge San Tan Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday up 168 places (109 vs. 277).
