Basketball Recap: Twentynine Palms Takes a Loss

Twentynine Palms and Ramona squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Twentynine Palms had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Ramona Rams by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since January 12, 2024.

Ramona's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Molina, who dropped a triple-double with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 blocks. The dominant performance also gave Molina a new career-high in assists (six). Jaiden Tibbels was another key player, putting up 20 points and three steals.

Twentynine Palms' loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Ramona, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 25-5.

Twentynine Palms does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ramona, they will take on El Toro at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ramona is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.
