Basketball Recap: Yorba Linda Victorious

Yorba Linda won against Los Altos last Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Yorba Linda Mustangs secured a 48-44 W over the Marina Vikings. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marina's loss came despite strong showings from Rylee Bradley and Maria Tejeda. Bradley posted 23 points in addition to five boards and five steals, while Tejeda went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 52.3% of Marina's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Yorba Linda is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Marina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Yorba Linda has already played their next game, a 44-41 loss against Fountain Valley on the 30th. As for Marina, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-42 defeat against Pacifica Christian/Orange County on the 30th.
