Baseball Recap: Camas Valley Takes a Loss

Camas Valley extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 6-19. They fell 7-2 to the Oakland Oakers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 28, 2025, but that streak is no more.

As for Oakland, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-23. That looming 7-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Oakland's part, Karter Spencer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up six Ks. Spencer is becoming a predictor of the Oakers' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 2-21 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Knox Brooksby was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gaige Perry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Camas Valley nor Oakland have any future games scheduled.
