Recap: Miramonte Matadors vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats
The Miramonte Matadors lost against the Marin Catholic Wildcats back in May of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Miramonte fell 45-32 to Marin Catholic. While losing is never fun, Miramonte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Marin Catholic is ranked 123rd).
Despite the loss, Miramonte had strong showings from Karena Eberts, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks, and Julia Quinn Ferguson, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds. Eberts scored a full 59.4% of Miramonte's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Miramonte now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Marin Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miramonte will square off against College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. College Park will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Marin Catholic and San Marin will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Marin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
