Baseball Recap: Treutlen Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Treutlen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Montgomery County Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Gavin Wood's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Caden Parrish was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Page, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Treutlen's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Looking ahead, Treutlen will challenge Dublin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Treutlen's pitchers better be ready for this one: Dublin has averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
