Football Recap: Irene/Wakonda Takes a Loss

Irene/Wakonda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Alcester-Hudson Cubs, falling 41-8. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 56-6 to the Cubs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Irene/Wakonda's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Alcester-Hudson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irene/Wakonda will venture away from home to face off against Oldham-Ramona/R at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alcester-Hudson, they will head out to challenge Viborg/Hurley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
