Softball Recap: Shaw Comes Up Short

If Shaw was feeling good fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Sumter County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders came up short against the Taylor County Vikings on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost eight in a row.

Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Taylor County, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Looking ahead, Shaw will welcome Hardaway at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Taylor County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
