Football Recap: Hanover Park Beats Mountain Lakes for Their Third Straight Win

Hanover Park strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Mountain Lakes Lakers. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly 14 points.

Hanover Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Kovacs, who threw for 209 yards and three TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards. What's more, Kovacs racked up 164.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Darien Iannacone was Kovacs' top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hanover Park's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mountain Lakes, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Coming up, Hanover Park will welcome Glen Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Lakes, they will venture away from home to take on Lenape Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
