Basketball Recap: Commodore Perry Skates Past Union with Ease

There's no place like home for Commodore Perry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 63-34 victory over the Union Knights/Damsels. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 38-22 win the Knights/Damsels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Commodore Perry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eastin Post led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Post now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Bella Saxe, who went 7 for 14 en route to 21 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Commodore Perry was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Several Knights/Damsels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddy Dehart, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Ruby Watson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Commodore Perry's record is now 8-11. As for Union, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Coming up, Commodore Perry will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union, they will venture away from home to face off against Curwensville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
