Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Drops Season-High Score on Oak Grove

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Grove Eagles. One positive for the Cardinals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Mt. Pleasant had strong showings from Snowe DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 boards, and Diana Chaidez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine assists and nine blocks. The matchup was DeLeon's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tracy Doan, who posted six points and three steals.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Oak Grove, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.

Mt. Pleasant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-13 defeat against Live Oak on the 7th. As for Oak Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-17 loss against Willow Glen on the 4th.
