Soccer Game Preview: New Hanover vs. Hoggard

The New Hanover Wildcats will face off against the Hoggard Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

New Hanover is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Topsail on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Tre Bennett and Miles Bickel scored both of New Hanover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Hoggard came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Trojans an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Hoggard, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Hoggard's victory bumped their record up to 14-1-1. With that draw, New Hanover's record moves to 11-3-1.
