Baseball Recap: Islands Takes a Loss

Islands lost against Savannah Christian back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Islands Sharks came up short against the Savannah Christian Raiders, falling 16-1. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Savannah Christian, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7.

Islands and Savannah Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Islands will square off against South Effingham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 177 places (232 vs. 55). Islands has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Savannah Christian (ranked 117th) will meet Effingham County (ranked 15th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
