Volleyball Recap: Cypress Falls Comes Up Short

Cypress Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Memorial Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since August 29th.

While Cypress Falls ultimately came up short, they really made Memorial work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-10, 26-24, 25-20.

Tyler Sharrett paced Cypress Falls' offense, picking up 13 kills. Sharrett got some help from Juliet Davila and her eight assists. Finally, Jaelyn Mitchell kept Cypress Falls' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Memorial was led to victory by Bess Berg and Ella Ross. Berg had nine assists and seven digs, while Ross had six assists. That's the most assists Berg has posted since back in August of 2024. Megan Adams also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Cypress Falls' loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Cypress Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Cypress Creek on the 12th. As for Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Cypress Ridge on the 12th.
