If the term "what a difference a year makes" had never been invented, Parkview's Joey DeMasi would have invented it.

A year ago, DeMasi had exactly one home run at this point in the season and only six RBIs. He finished the year with two home runs while batting .190 with 11 RBIs.

What a difference a ... you get the idea. Now, DeMasi leads the nation in home runs with eight and has Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.), the 2015 MaxPreps National Team of the Year, at 13-3 and ranked No. 11 in the MaxPreps National Computer Rankings.

DeMasi has twice hit two home runs in a game, once against Collins Hill (including a grand slam) and once against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic.

The shortstop is batting .345 with 26 RBIs. He has as many grand slams this year as he had home runs all of last year.
