Soccer Game Preview: Alameda vs. James Logan

The Alameda Hornets will face off against the James Logan Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Alameda headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Encinal let them put that streak behind them. Everything went Alameda's way against Encinal on Friday as Alameda made off with a 7-1 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James Logan). Their defense stepped up to hand Irvington a 14-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Colts have won six games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

James Logan has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four matchups. As for Alameda, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-8-1 record.
