On Tuesday David Emanuel Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Pinewood Christian Patriots. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Rayleigh Faircloth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, David Emanuel Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaley Flowers, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

David Emanuel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Pinewood Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Emanuel Academy will venture away from home to square off against Edmund Burke Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinewood Christian, they will head out to face off against First Presbyterian Day at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
