Football Recap: Lamarrion Gooden Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northridge + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Bessemer City took on Northridge on Friday. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jaguars, sneaking past 19-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Jaguars since October 24, 2019.

Bessemer City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamarrion Gooden, who rushed for 179 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Gooden is now averaging an impressive 104.7 rushing yards per game. Chase Walker also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bessemer City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Bessemer City and bumps their season record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 24 points in those games. As for Northridge, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
