Football Game Preview: Fort Frye Cadets vs. Greenbrier West Cavaliers

The Fort Frye Cadets will take on the Greenbrier West Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Frye is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Greenbrier West better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Fort Frye's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Fort Frye really gets things going. Everything went the Cadets' way against Caldwell as they made off with a 31-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Tyce Beardsley and Gavin Rauch. Beardsley rushed for 127 yards and one TD on only 14 carries while Rauch rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Beardsley didn't just play on offense: he also made one tackle and defended two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Fort Frye didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Beardsley.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier West fell victim to Man and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 20-0 to the Hillbillies. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cavaliers were not able to get on the board.

Greenbrier West now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Fort Frye, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Fort Frye against Greenbrier West in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 27-0 victory. Do the Cadets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
