Baseball Game Preview: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Toombs County Bulldogs

The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers will face off against the Toombs County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Toombs County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Academy of Richmond County, who comes in off a win.

Academy of Richmond County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Howard 12-0. The contest marked the Musketeers' most dominant win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Henry Oliver, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Barfield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Academy of Richmond County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Howard only posted an OBP of .062.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Toombs County's offense. They came up short against Pierce County on Friday, falling 7-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Toombs County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Academy of Richmond County, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
