Basketball Game Preview: Strathmore Spartans vs. Riverdale Cowboys

The Strathmore Spartans will take on the Riverdale Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Strathmore will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Strathmore is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Orange Cove for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-13 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-4.

Meanwhile, Riverdale was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-30 to Fowler. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Strathmore's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Riverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Everything came up roses for Strathmore against Riverdale in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, as the team secured a 68-22 victory. In that match, Strathmore amassed a halftime lead of 43-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
