Basketball Recap: McCool Junction Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cozad, McCool Junction was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They snuck past the H&H Bearcats with a 60-56 victory.

It was another big night for Carson McDonald, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of McCool Junction's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 5-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ja Soukup, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

McCool Junction smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why H&H lost, don't look at Wyatt Dose. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-18 en route to 23 points. Maddox Regier was another key player, putting up 11 points.

McCool Junction is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for H&H, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCool Junction will take on Lawrence-Nelson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for H&H, they will challenge Fullerton on Friday.
