Basketball Recap: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Sacramento Adventist Capitals 60-29. The Wolves were down 47-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adriana Peter, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simran Kahlon, who put up seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacramento Adventist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gwen Rosich, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. What's more, Rosich also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Kyla Friedrich was another key player, going 8-for-13 to rack up 19 points.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Sacramento Adventist, their record now sits at 17-4.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has already played their next contest, an 83-61 defeat against Faith Christian on the 4th. As for Sacramento Adventist, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-19 victory against Sacramento Country Day on the 4th.
