Basketball Recap: Shadow Mountain Matadors vs. Coronado Dons
Shadow Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 47-12 defeat at the hands of the Coronado Dons. The Matadors were not able to make up for their loss to the Dons from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.
Lylah Pierce was Shadow Mountain's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Shonnie Holland held things down on the boards with 13 rebounds.
Aundrea Rodriguez had a dynamite game For Coronado., putting up 21 points and four steals. Rodriguez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Tso, who posted seven points along with seven blocks and three steals.
Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Coronado, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shadow Mountain will take on Cortez at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coronado, they will challenge Goldwater at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
