Football Recap: Humboldt Comes Up Short

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Humboldt was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a blow against the Eureka Tornadoes, falling 34-6. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Mason Sterling threw for 64 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Gavin Gunderman was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.

Eureka got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tj Mills out in front who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards and one TD. Peyton Hare was another key player, rushing for 40 yards and one score.

Humboldt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eureka, their record is now 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humboldt will take on Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eureka, they will square off against Bluestem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
