Bloom had won five straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 9-9 to make it six. They never let the Kankakee Kays get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's two games straight that the Blazing Trojan have won by exactly five runs.

As for Kankakee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. While getting shut out isn't ideal, they haven't been shut out since back in March.

For Kankakee's part, Bentley Deany was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Deany has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloom will welcome Beecher at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kankakee, they will host Thornridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
