Preview: Tri-City Christian Eagles vs. Heritage Christian Warriors

Tri-City Christian has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Heritage Christian Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-City Christian's defense has only allowed 23.6 points per game this season, so Heritage Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Heritage Christian.

While it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, Tri-City Christian was not quite Escondido's equal in the second half on Thursday. Tri-City Christian fell just short of Escondido by a score of 45-42. Tri-City Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 3 on offense.

Despite the defeat, Tri-City Christian got a solid performance out of Talia Anthony, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten steals. Anthony scored a full 61.9% of Tri-City Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Giselle Murray was another key contributor, scoring a points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Tri-City Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Heritage Christian can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Tuesday. They came out on top against Viewpoint by a score of 37-24. The victory was just what Heritage Christian needed coming off of a 54-22 loss in their prior contest.

Tri-City Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Heritage Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
