Basketball Recap: South Fork Takes a Loss

After flying high against San Francisco Waldorf last Saturday, South Fork came back down to earth. The South Fork Cubs were outmatched by the Hoopa Valley Warriors and fell 72-29. The Cubs haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

It was another big night for Ivy Lamebear, who posted 29 points for Hoopa Valley. The dominant performance gave Lamebear a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Morris, who put up 12 points.

South Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hoopa Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

South Fork will be playing at home against Hayfork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoopa Valley, they will square off against Modoc at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoopa Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.
