Soccer Game Preview: Norcross vs. Brookwood

The Norcross Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Brookwood Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Norcross has four straight victories, Brookwood has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Norcross took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Peachtree Ridge, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Norcross sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Peachtree Ridge on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Blue Devils were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Brookwood was not quite South Forsyth's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the War Eagles by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Victor Osemene, who's now up to four this season.

Norcross' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Brookwood, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Norcross beat Brookwood by a goal in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norcross since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
