Basketball Game Preview: Barrack Hebrew Academy Cougars vs. Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride

The Barrack Hebrew Academy Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

On February 3rd, Barrack Hebrew Academy lost to Masterman on the road by a 62-44 margin.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Philadelphia and New Foundations squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cristo Rey Philadelphia had to settle for second. They lost 49-28 to New Foundations.

Barrack Hebrew Academy will have to contain Laila Alexander as she made an impact in Cristo Rey Philadelphia's last game. She went 7-for-16 en route to 18 points and four steals. Alexander is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dariyah Smith, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Cristo Rey Philadelphia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
