Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Polytechnic

Polytechnic won the last time they faced Monrovia, and Maggie Scholze did her part to make sure it happened again. The Polytechnic Panthers simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Monrovia Wildcats 67-28 thanks in part to Scholze, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Scholze is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Polytechnic, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.3 points. As for Monrovia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polytechnic will venture away from home to challenge Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Polytechnic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. Monrovia and Maranatha will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
