Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seymour). They never let the Pleasant Hill/Western Wolves get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Connor Howell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Dieker was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Blake Schwartz was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Seymour always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Seymour's record is now 6-10. As for Pleasant Hill/Western, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Seymour will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
