Softball Recap: Plainview Beats Madill for Their Third Straight Victory

Plainview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Madill Wildcats with a sharp 12-2 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Leah Long looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jazmin McGee was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrey Martin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Plainview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Plainview's record now sits at 20-7. As for Madill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainview will venture away from home to challenge Byng at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madill, they will head out to take on Lone Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
