Softball Recap: Meadville Has No Trouble Against Grundy County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Atlanta, Meadville was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Grundy County Panthers 13-3. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Meadville got a massive performance out of McKinlee Fletcher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Fletcher a new career-high. Alexis Shiflett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.

Meadville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meadville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Grundy County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will host Bevier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grundy County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Gilman City at 5:30 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
